We had the honor of partnering with El Zaribah Shriners and help assist with their quarterly clinic, Shriner’s Hospitals for Children. Shriners is a specialty clinic that operates at Maricopa County Hospital and 22 other hospitals in the country for children with all sorts of disabilities such as orthopedic disabilities, spinal cord injuries, burns and cleft lip and palate. The clinic will see patients from all over the U.S., Canada, Mexico, parts of Latin America, and some overseas countries. Regardless of the family’s ability to pay, Shriners will still provide care for the patients and are able to do so through donations and fundraisers throughout the year.
One of our CIS team member’s daughter has been cared for by this organization for many years, and CIS & Knoll chose to come together to support this organization and to show our support for her family. Everyone at CIS collected gifts for the kids who traveled a great distance to be seen at the clinic. Gifts were then handed out when their appointment was finished, so each kid leaves with a smile on their face.
Alongside the happy clowns face painting, CIS also set up a craft activity to help pass the time as the children awaited their appointment with a specialist. The craft activity was a BIG hit and the clinic is now planning on implementing it in their regular programming.
A big thank you to Shriner’s for allowing us to partner with your amazing organization who support so many kids with all sorts of disabilities.
