At CIS we are proud to do our part as good citizens of the Earth. We believe that simply changing our everyday habits can have positive effects on the planet. For instance, we have reduced our dependence on electricity by shutting off lights in the office that are not absolutely necessary. When natural light from windows will do, we simply open the blinds. Also, we were in the habit of using disposable plastic cups and utensils in our kitchen but have switched to reusable items.
In an effort to reduce paper waste, “hard copies” have been significantly reduced and replaced with “soft copies” that can be shared digitally between team members. When we must use paper documents, we are diligent in our recycling efforts. Reducing our use of disposable goods and cutting back on our energy consumption are just a few of the ways that we try to be environmentally responsible.
Recently, we have started using natural “green” hand soap in our restrooms and many products throughout the office are made from recycled and “green” materials. We will continue seeking other ways to reduce our negative impact on the Earth and in this effort, we are not alone. Many of our manufacturers are making “green” choices every day by developing products that are recycled, recyclable and friendlier to our planet.
Together, we are making choices that will preserve the Earth’s precious resources and CIS is proud to do our part.
