Circle of Friends- Rock N' Bowl

8.19.11
Scottsdale, AZ

Each year, Circle of Friends and the design community come together to benefit a local charity.  This years local charity was the Arizona Association for Foster and Adoptive Parents (www.azafap.org). Today there are over 10,000 Arizona children in foster care. The main goal of the association is the retention of Arizona's resource families.  Take a look at their website and see the support they offer through awareness, social and educational events and camps.

This year we have chosen a charity with a cause that has great personal meaning to Donna Sites.  When Donna was 6 months old she was placed in foster care; at 3 years old her biological mother relinquished her rights and after 2 years of processing, Donna's parents adopted her a week after her 5th birthday.  Donna's parents were foster parents for over 20 years fostering over 300 children (wow!).  Donna's mom passed away a few years ago and not a day goes by that Donna's mom's zest for life and complete unconditional love & support aren't remembered fondly.

Thanks to Linda Via Lanes for holding the event.

Petutopia

9.19.10
Scottsdale, AZ

The IIDA Southwest Chapter (International Interior Design Association) held its 4th annual Petutopia on Saturday, November 13th at the Franciscan Renewal Center to benefit Poverty's Pets, a project dedicated to rescue abandoned, neglected and abused animals in low-income and underserved communities.  Through Education and veterinary care, the goal is to end animal cruelty, suffering, overpopulation and homelessness.

The highlight of the evening was the 12 original pet habitats that were designed by local Architects and Designers who are teamed up with contractors to build these structures out of leftover materials.  They were then auctioned off via live auction to raise money for Poverty's Pets.  In addition there was a great Dane Drill Team demonstration , a pet fashion show and raffles.

Special thanks to Concord General Contracting for capturing our vision.

Canstruction

3.5.11
Phoenix, AZ

The 5th annual Canstruction was held at the Phoenix City Scape this year and we jumped at the opportunity to participate in the effort to fight hunger by coming together with the rest of the design community to create amazing structures out of canned goods.  This was a great event to display talent and purpose.

We would like to thank the entire Canstruction team: Gensler Architects, Holder Construction, & CIS.
