GET TO KNOW digg: Pam Brown
Here at CIS we are very proud of the amazing team members that we get to work with. One of the most dedicated people on our team is Pam Brown. Pam has been at CIS in our digg department since 2014. Pam’s hardworking, positive attitude is a great addition to our team! The marketing team recently sat down with her to learn more about what makes her who she is.
How many positions have you had at CIS? What are they? Which did you like the best?
I started as a DIRTT project manager when I came over to CIS in 2014. It wasn’t too long after that I took over more responsibilities, moving me into my current leadership role as digg Director of Operations. I do a little bit of everything including estimating, educating clients, project coordination and design.
What’s your favorite thing about working at CIS?
The best thing about working at CIS is our people. From the encouragement and growth opportunity Lisa Johnson (our President and CEO) provides to the teamwork we employ on a daily basis and the internal and external events that we enjoy together. There is so much talent – both personal and work-related – within our walls. We have some really funny employees that make us laugh a lot too! And I really love our little digg team hiding in the back of our building. We all work really hard but make sure we designate time to enjoy each other.
What do you find most challenging about your job?
The most challenging part of my job is that prefabricated interior construction is still a relatively new idea and people are fearful of change, so it requires a lot of effort to get the industry educated. Historically, in the Phoenix area, the practices of incorporating DIRTT into projects has created a lot of misconceptions. So our digg team, CIS and our DIRTT representatives are working very hard to remedy this.
What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work?
This one is a little hard to answer since I’m usually working! Anyone that knows me well will tell you that! But my husband and I recently rescued a puppy so lately my time is spent playing, walking and hiking with him. We’re really looking forward to taking him camping up north in our little trailer once our lives return to normal.
What advice would you have for future CIS employees?
Advice to future employees would be to participate and speak up! We are a large team but all opinions carry merit. There is always room for improvement with everything in life, but change can’t happen if its ideas aren’t shared.
Do you have an office nickname? If so, what?
Ahhh yes…..I do have a few. Since Pam Harrell has been deservingly THE Pam at CIS for 30 or so years I obviously needed a nickname when coming on board!
We’ve got DIRTTy Pam, DIRTTy P, DP, Pamcakes, and I’m sure I’m forgetting some. But I respond to all!
If someone made a movie about your life, what actress would you want to play you?
Hmmm…….. let’s go with someone down to earth who loves a good laugh and isn’t afraid to share it………………..
